Oil for the Tabernacle Lamp is kept in half gallon size clear containers in boxes in the Rear Sacristy stairwell, just on the other side of the door. A folding step-stool ladder is in the same area. Do this only if you are comfortable on the ladder.
The oil level is typically checked by the Wednesday Sacristan.
Remove the red globe. Extinguish the flame. Unscrew the wick assembly.
Using the blue pouring cap, carefully fill the lamp. Be careful to not overfill. You can use a clean votive candle lighting stick as a makeshift ‘dipstick’.
Screw in the wick assembly. Expose a minimum wick length, light, and replace the red globe.
