Pre-Consecration:
It goes without saying that we shall treat the bread and wine as we would with food for our table.
Post-Consecration:
Treat the Precious Blood and Body of Our Lord with reverence in speech and demeanor. Our actions while in the Sacristy with the Precious Blood and Body present should be no different than if we were in front of the Altar or Tabernacle.
Cups:
If the Presider or Deacon does not sanctify, consume any remaining Precious Blood. If the EMHCs or Sacristans are not able to consume, then wait for the Presider or Deacon. Rinse each cup and chalice carefully with water and pour that water into the sacrarium. Dry each with a purificator.
“The reverence due to the Precious Blood of the Lord demands that it be fully consumed after Communion is completed and never be poured into the ground or the sacrarium.” (USCCB Norms for Holy Communion #55).
Ciborium:
Rinse each carefully with water and pour the water into the sacrarium. Dry with a purificator.
Corporals & Purificators:
Open each corporal over the sacrarium and scrape the corporal to remove any loose particles. If there are no stains, the corporal may be reused. If wine (pre) or Precious Blood (post) is on the corporal, rinse the spot as best as you can into the sacrarium with water. For purificators, if Precious Blood spillage, rinse with water into the sacrarium as done for the corporal.
Sacrarium:
After all the above, rinse and dry the sacrarium.
Sanitize:
Wash all vessels in the normal sink with soap and water, then dry.
