Helping Hands

Looking for a way to help those in need in our community but don’t want to make a major time commitment? Helping Hands if for you! Whether you can spare an hour a month, an hour a week, or any time at all the Helping Hands Ministry is a great opportunity to get involved.

The mission of Helping Hands is to fill in the gaps when family members or friends are not available to help. A network of volunteers provide transportation to those who need a ride to the doctor, grocery store, church, or maybe to visit a spouse in the hospital or nursing home. When you or your family is in time of crisis we can provide meals, run errands, etc. If someone is alone we can provide a friendly visitor or a phone “buddy”.

We are trying to build a large volunteer base, so our volunteers can comfortably work this ministry into their schedules and at the same time serve the needs of those in our community.

Right now we are also in great need of people to help make phone calls to line up volunteers for assignments. You can do this from home for a couple weeks at a time every few months.

The Helping Hands Ministry can utilize whatever talents and time you can offer providing you with a rewarding experience in return. Please fill out a sign-up sheet to join or call Trudy Johnson for more info at 352-406-1620 or

I arise today
Through God's strength:
God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me, God's host to save me

Christ to shield me today
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.
